CHRISTmas.... Hypocrisy

I have been seeing SO MANY posts lately to the extent of "I WON'T SAY 'HAPPY HOLIDAYS' IT'S CHRISTMAS! KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTmas" etc etc etc...
I'm going to keep this pretty damn short.

1. Amazingly enough, not ONLY Christians celebrate big holidays in December.. Imagine that? However, I highly doubt they would be entirely thrilled if they were wished Happy Kwanzaa or Hanuka by people who like them were unwilling to be respectful and/or accepting of other people's views who are different than theirs...

2. Let's be frank here, there is no proof or even slight pointer toward the possibility that Jesus was even born in winter... Let alone December... Certainly NOT December 25th. Nothing in the bible and no historical proof. However, do you know what is documented as a part of history? The taking over of Christianity as the major religion throughout Europe. I know we all cut to flashes of witch burnings, drownings, beheadings, and hangings (among other things). However, before all that the church was more sneaky and underhanded and a little less violent. They took over the pagan temples, and centered their holidays on or around pagan holidays in hopes of converting the pagans who came to those temples on those days to worship... It wasn't until they realized that while they were snaring quite a few there but that many were holding true to their faith that they started slaughtering the remainders (and quite a few of their converts who simply weren't popular among their neighbors for that matter). It strikes me as funny that some Christians now are making a huge deal out of others celebrating other faiths near Christmas... When the choice for putting it in that time frame in the first place was in hopes of completely taking down another faith... "PUT CHRIST back in CHRISTmas?"

How about everyone just stick with the happy holidays? Take this time to enjoy your family, friends, and count your blessings... Celebrate your faith by all means... but consider that... THERE ARE OTHER FAITHS, WHO HAVE OTHER BELIEFS, AND OTHER HOLIDAYS IN DECEMBER! AND AMAZINGLY ENOUGH IT WASN'T STARTED AS A MEANS OF TAKING DOWN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT RELIGION!

I am not anti-christianity... What I am is anti-ignorance, anti-pettiness, anti-hatefulness, and most of all anti-hypocrisy.
